Pack 220 Cub Scout and Family Camping Item List

 

 

Below are suggested items each scout and family member bring. Please use it as a guide and bring other items as you see fit for an overnight campout:

 

____Yellow Pack T-shirt

____Bag lunch with beverage for Saturday noon during our hike to the Civil War furnace!!!!

____Water bottle (some small container to hold water for drinking during the hike, etc.)

____Book bag (to hold your lunch, rain gear, water bottle/drink, and First Aid kit during the hike)

____Jacket, sweat shirt, and/or sweater (weather may get cold at night)

____Poncho or rain jacket

____Under pants (at least 2)

____T-shirts (at least 2)

____Tennis shoes (bring a spare in case it rains)

____Hiking shoes/boots (optional): We’ll be hiking a 2 mile roundtrip to Civil War furnaces

____Thick Socks (2-3 pairs)

____Shorts

____Long pants (jeans/sweat pants)

____Pajamas (if you sleep in one)

____Sleeping bag

____Sleeping bag mat/cushion, inflatable air mattress to place sleeping bag on, OR camping cot (both optional): For you adults, one of these devices are great, ground can be quite hard to sleep on even with a sleeping bag!

____Blankets (bring enough for all in the family in case it gets cold!) and sheets

____Pillow (optional)

____Flashlight with new batteries and spare batteries & bulbs

____Insect repellant

____Toothbrush and toothpaste

____Towels (2)

____Wash cloths (2)

____Toilet paper (there are bathroom facilities, but a roll could save your dignity and underwear!!)

____Soap

____Shampoo, deodorant, cologne (optional)

____Comb

____Dirty clothes bag (trash bag works well)

____Cub scout book

____Writing items (pencil and paper)

____Spending money (there are several stores, souvenir shops, and activities available)

____Fishing gear (optional)

____Camera with film (optional)

____Small clothesline (optional)

____Portable chair (each person should have one, there are NO chairs at the campsite!)

 

Each family should also bring:

____Tent with rain fly and all the stakes (make sure your tent does not leak!)

____Stake hammer and hook (optional)

____Ground cover to sit the tent on

____Personal First Aid kit

____Any medications, whether prescription or over-the-counter (Tylenol, cough syrup, Benadryl, etc.)

____Lantern either propane, liquid fuel, or electric (optional)

____Two-way walkie-talkies (optional, but those who want to keep in contact when the group splits up for hike, etc.)
